University Research, Evidence and Impact.
Demonstrating the outcomes and impact of our work for young people, families and the organisations we work with is essential to us. It helps us build trust, develop healthy relationships and continually improve the quality of everything we do. Our work with children and young people is evaluated by Birmingham City University (BCU), helping us to understand and evidence the impact of our programmes and identify where we can further strengthen our service delivery.
We have now worked with over 300 pupils since 2023 as part of the Safe Journey Transition Framework™ and have achieved various success stories including pupils at risk from managed moves, transitioning to successful Junior Leaders and remaining at their initial schools (see DfE visit on website), to a team of 17 Mental Health Ambassadors from one secondary school, after successfully securing funding through the DfE SAFE Project. The Safe Journey Transition Framework™ includes a 100% pass rate including accredited wellbeing courses, workshops, Junior Leader programmes and Mental Health Ambassador training.
We believe young people should not simply be supported to cope with life. They should be equipped and empowered with the skills, confidence, emotional understanding and resilience they need to thrive, make positive choices and progress towards a positive and sustainable transition into young adulthood.
Our BCU partnership supports our commitment to evidence-informed practice. We want to understand not only what we deliver, but what difference it makes to the lives of young people — including their wellbeing, confidence, resilience, emotional development and ability to make positive and sustainable progress. Our partnership with BCU also helps us demonstrate what works, learn from evidence and continually improve the outcomes we achieve.
