Jenny Bingham

Head Teacher

The Little Roots programme has provided an excellent framework to enable my teaching staff to deliver outstanding PSHE sessions relating to children’s health and well-being. This is an invaluable programme created to ensure that our younger children understand how to develop protective behaviours and understand the key messages underpinning the Prevent strategy in an engaging, age appropriate and interactive way. My team thoroughly enjoyed working with Jonny and he ensured that the training he provided had immediate impact in the classroom, with minimal preparation required due to the excellent organisation and quality of resources and prepared presentations. Great value for money and I’m certain this will impact positively on the whole school community. Many thanks!’

Kay Reid

Deputy Head

Jonny has supported our year 9 and 11 pupils, through exam preparation and the introduction of a new wellbeing course called Safe Journey, centred around Protective Behaviours. Jonny has very quickly built relationships with our pupils and staff and created an atmosphere in which pupils can discuss potentially sensitive situations in a supportive and safe manner.

Louise Langston

0-19 Early Help Manager for Redditch and Bromsgrove Districts

Jonny’s youth work training has been invaluable for staff; enabling them to really build on their existing skills and knowledge. It has also opened our eyes as to the many barriers our young people are often up against and how youth work-type intervention can help to alleviate these. Jonny has also supported staff to roll-out a successful OCN Level 1 Award in Personal Wellbeing course to year 11 pupils. The course has proven very popular with our young people, and from a service point of view, it has helped address some of the gaps we’re seeing in lower-level mental health and wellbeing provision.

Jo

Youth Worker

Clips and activities were brilliant and I will definitely be using these for my sessions when working with young people.

Linda Crumlin

Group Manager at Australian Red Cross.

Many of the children and the young people we work with have a history of physical and mental issues through neglect and abuse, therefore it was essential that we had robust and effective systems in place to support the work we do. Jonny updated and developed our policies and procedures to ensure the safety of our clients and our staff and volunteers.

Ann Marsh

Former Head of Key Stage 4

Thank you for your feedback and for your hard work.  What I saw looked really good and engaged the pupils very positively.  I am really pleased.

Desi Duguid

Programme Manager for Corrective Services.

Jonny created and facilitated an outstanding Wellbeing Program for our sentenced boys at Banksia Hill Detention Centre. He is an amazing facilitator and displayed an amazing ability to rapidly develop a positive rapport with our Aboriginal Boys, delivering the topic at the right level and presenting it in an easy to understand and enjoyable format.

Carl

Teacher

This training was extremely powerful and interactive.  It demonstrated the serious issues about what the pressures are for young people with sex and relationships and also what strategies we can support teenagers with to feel safe.

Riddhi

Teacher

Very informative training, would recommend it, gave an insight into how young people can slip through the education net.

Young People

Jack - 16

Pre Exam Course

‘It made you feel relaxed and ok to talk about your feelings. I did my exams without stressing and starting Bournville College after summer.

Ali - 16

Wellbeing Course

It made me think about taking safe risks so that I can do better in my life and not be scared of failing. I wish I did this when I was younger. I now volunteer for my local council and want to work with children.

Aiden – 16

Pre Exam Course

We had loads of fun and I learnt loads as well. I feel better ‘cause I know what to do if I get stressed!

Shelby - 18

Wellbeing Course

I would not have been able to do the community event or gone for my interview before attending the wellbeing course

Parents and Carers

Mrs L Degenkolb

Jonny was a great mentor for my daughter who has gone on to become a qualified dental nurse.  My son has specific learning needs and Jonny and the Junior Volunteer Squad enabled him to remain feeling safe, happy and inclusive when taking part in activities.

Mrs S Pointon

My 6 year old son attended one of the Community Activity Weeks which was recommended to me by a neighbour. As he has autism it was very important that his needs were met and appropriate planning was done. Jonny, his staff team and the young people could not have done a better job. The care and attention that was put into the project was out of this world.
