Safe Journey are very proud to have been visited by Hannah Streatfield from the Department of Education and Councillor Karen McCarthy, Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Families, for our Well-being Champions programme. We were chosen as one of only three projects out of three hundred across the whole of Birmingham, to showcase the impact our young people make in their community. Since 2022, our Well-being Champions in KS3 and KS4 have now supported over 400 children within KS1 & KS2.

“Some of our pupils have been very disengaged with learning due to several factors in their lives. The Well-being Champions programme has given individuals a new focus and instilled self belief, with pupils seeing themselves as a role model and an integral part of the wider community.” – Mr Levy: Assistant Head Teacher at Heartlands Academy in Nechells, Birmingham.
